Experimental Science in the Old Testament

The idea of the controlled experiment is a lot older than the Middle Ages. In Exodus, God and Pharaoh contest with one another by running a series of controlled experiments. Numbers 16 shows Moses instructing Korah in how to setup a controlled experiment, then using that knowledge himself just a chapter later in combat with the Amelkites. In Judges, Gideon describes how he ran a controlled experiment, while 1 Kings shows Elijah instructing the prophets of Baal in the nuances of that very same concept: the controlled experiment. Even Daniel has to teach the king how do it.

The Bible taught it, the medieval Christians spread the idea, and Catholics monks spread it throughout Europe. Teach everyone how it is done!
