God's Ten Words

The odyssey began when God called to Moses from out of the burning bush.

It culminatedyears later, as the Chosen People gathered at the foot of the mountain and Moses ascended alone to meet God.

He received the Ten Words, graven on stone, amidst fire, thunder and cloud.

This laminated poster recalls the glory of God, Who Is a Consuming Fire, and the miracle of the Ten Commandments (Deut 4:24, Heb 12:21).

The center of the poster features the Scripture references to both versions of the Ten Commandments, plus the New Testament Gospel reference in which Jesus asks the rich young man how well he has lived them. 

These are the commandments that are graven on our hearts, but sin and pain obscure them. God wrote them out so that we would have no difficulty understanding the call our consciences make on us.
